Prima Riesling

The 2018 Pewsey Vale Prima Riesling exhibits the purity of style that we continue to see in all of the vintages we have made of this wine. Very pale in colour with green hues; the aroma has hints of the classic Pewsey Vale Riesling characters but is most redolent of white cherries, nectarines and lychees. The palate shows great intensity, length and finesse with a vibrancy of perfumed fruits such as guava and mandarin overlaid with a touch of white cherry, sorbet and clove. The wine is succulent, mouth-watering and will cellar well, slowly developing flavour layers of fresh toast and spice. Try with a green papaya salad or Thai fish cakes and lime wedges.

Riesling

Pale straw in colour with green hues. Intense aromas reminiscent of fine dried herbs, white flowers, lemons and limes. Shows great length and depth on the palate with grapefruit and limes, fresh rosemary, white pepper and a hint of tropical fruit. The wine finishes with a soft natural acidity which balances the flavour intensity and a minerality that will reward medium to long-term cellaring.

Enjoy with seared scallops, salt and pepper squid, or a Thai noodle salad.

Contours

Produced from old vines farmed on the coolest slope. Bottle ageing for five years before release transforms fresh lemon and floral aromatics into a complex wine of limes and brioche. Further richness and complexity will accumulate over future decades.

Pale straw in colour with green hues, the wine opens with intense classic lemon fruit aromas and hints of white flowers. Bottle aged characters of toast, clove oil and lemon grass have started to emerge. A palate of great length and depth with concentrated power, pristine fresh lime juice overlaid with toasted brioche, sage oil and lime marmalade. The wine finishes with a fresh but soft natural acidity which balances the flavour intensity. This wine is released in 2018 after 5 years of bottle age, but will gracefully continue to age for many years for those who appreciate bottle aged Riesling.

Try with Foie Gras or duck breast with five spice glaze or smoky cauliflower soup with shaved truffles.

1961 Block Riesling

This wine is pristine with aromas and flavours of lemon myrtle and tea tree blossom. With crushed quartz minerality, it is evocative, seamless and ageless. The wine shows great tautness and line as a young wine that will delight early drinkers as well as those who want to cellar it for 15+ years.

Enjoy with kingfish sashimi with lime jelly or vegetable spring rolls with Vietnamese herbs.
